OVERVIEW

Alabama EMS Protocol Reference ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the developer's data collection, use, and protection practices.

DATA COLLECTION

The App does NOT collect any of the following:

• Personal identification information
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Location data
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Crash reports or diagnostic data
• Contact information
• Photos, files, or media
• Network activity or browsing history

NO DATA TRANSMISSION

The App:

• Does NOT require an internet connection to function
• Does NOT send any data to external servers
• Does NOT communicate with third-party services
• Does NOT include analytics or tracking tools

• Does NOT include in-app purchases

LOCAL DATA STORAGE

All data created or used by the App remains exclusively on your device:

1. Protocol Documents: PDF files stored locally in the app bundle
2. Custom Contacts: Contact information you manually enter is stored locally in your device's app-specific database
3. Settings: Your preferences (theme, display options) are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults
4. Custom Labels: Field labels you create are stored locally

This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not backed up to our servers (the developer has no servers)
• Is automatically included in your device's iCloud Backup if you have enabled iCloud backup in your device settings
• Is deleted when you delete the App from your device
• Can be restored if you set up a new device from iCloud Backup or restore your current device from backup
• Can be exported as CSV or vCard files for manual backup and sharing
• IMPORTANT: Simply reinstalling the App after deletion will NOT restore your data unless you perform a full device restore from iCloud Backup or import from a previously exported file

Understanding Data Backup and Restoration:

• Your custom contacts and settings are included in your device's standard iCloud Backup
• When you restore your device from an iCloud Backup, your custom contacts will be restored
• If you delete the App and then reinstall it WITHOUT restoring from backup, your custom contacts will be permanently lost
• To preserve your contacts when switching devices, you must restore the new device from your iCloud Backup during initial setup
• You can also manually export your contacts as CSV or vCard files from within the App for additional backup protection

YOUR CONTROL

You have complete control over your data:

• Edit Contacts: Modify or delete any contacts you've created
• Export Contacts: Export your custom contacts as CSV or vCard files for backup, sharing, or migration
• Delete All Data: Remove the App to permanently delete all local data from your device
• No Account Required: No registration, login, or account creation
• Your Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring your custom contacts are backed up through your device's iCloud Backup or by exporting them before uninstalling the App

DATA SECURITY

Since no data is transmitted or collected by this App:

• There is no risk of data breaches from the developer's servers as the developer has none
• Your data is protected by your device's security features
• The developer cannot access your data in any way

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND EXTERNAL RESOURCES

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks for its core functionality.

External Resources and Websites:

The App includes a Resources section with links to external EMS organizations, educational resources, and professional websites. This is where the offline nature of the App ends and important privacy considerations begin:

External Website Privacy Policies:

• External websites have their own privacy policies that govern how they collect, use, and protect your data
• The developer does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites
• When you visit external websites, THEIR privacy policies apply, NOT this App's privacy policy
• External websites may collect personal information, track your activity, use cookies, or employ other data collection methods

Your Responsibility:

You are strongly encouraged to:

• Read the privacy policies of any external websites you visit through the Resources section
• Review how external websites collect, use, and protect your personal information
• Exercise caution when providing personal information to external websites
• Understand that once you leave this App, you are subject to the external website's privacy practices

The developer is not responsible for:

• The privacy practices of external websites
• Any data collection by external websites
• How external websites use or protect your information
• Any third-party tracking or cookies on external websites

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This App does not collect information from children. No data is collected by the App.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

The developer may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Users will be notified of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
